In this online roundtable we will explore the challenges and opportunities in housing maintenance, particularly in light of rising disrepair complaints, increased costs, and a shortage of skilled workers.

The report highlights safety concerns for residents and proactive steps by some landlords in preparation for Awaab’s Law, which will enforce repair timelines and record-keeping. Our discussion will explore the relationships between landlords, contractors, and residents, particularly around accountability and the importance of communication and trust.

Our time will focus on four main themes: challenges for landlords, difficulties faced by residents, barriers for contractors/operatives, and success stories that can inform future practices.
