Sheffield HQ now powered by solar energy to further reduce carbon impact of EN operations
Our thanks to local SME Homeco Energy for a great job completing the installation 37KW of rooftop solar PV at Efficiency North’s Sheffield HQ, Collaboration Works, Carbrook in early May. The project was managed by Majid Ahmed Mater our ICT Manager & Facilities Manager.
The installation of 86 panels has been funded using a grant from the UKSPF Low Carbon Project. The solar panels should reduce the building’s grid demand by 60% and our carbon by 5.35 tonnes per annum.
This is just one action in EN’s Sustainable Environment Action Strategy (SEAS) which aims to identify viable and sustainable actions we can take within our day-to-day operations to help combat climate change and its negative impacts on the environment now.
Jonathan Shaw, Deputy Chief Executive of Efficiency North said, “Making the switch to renewable energies to power our operations is a core element of our environmental strategy, coupled with our growing use of Electric Vehicles and additional thermal efficiency measures. As a responsible business, it’s important to us to accelerate our efforts to reduce our carbon emissions to help mitigate the impact of climate change and safeguard our planet for future generations.”
