TENANT BASED TRAINING

Empowering social housing tenants by providing them with essential skills and knowledge to improve their living conditions and employment prospects.

PROJECT OVERVIEW

Tenant-Based Training is designed to empower social housing tenants by providing them with essential skills and knowledge to improve their living conditions and employment prospects. This project offers a range of training programs focused on practical skills, such as home maintenance, energy efficiency, and digital literacy, to help tenants manage their homes more effectively and reduce costs. Additionally, the training includes employability skills to enhance job readiness and support pathways to employment. By equipping tenants with these valuable skills, the project aims to foster independence, improve quality of life, and build stronger, more resilient communities.

PROJECT GOALS

  • Improve Tenant Self-Sufficiency: Equip tenants with practical skills for home maintenance, energy efficiency, and digital literacy to help them manage their homes more effectively and reduce living costs.
  • Enhance Employability: Provide training that improves job readiness, such as CV writing, interview skills, and digital skills, to increase employment opportunities for tenants.
  • Support Community Building: Foster a sense of community and collaboration among tenants by encouraging participation in group training sessions and community improvement projects.
  • Advance Sustainable Living:

Educate tenants on energy-saving practices and sustainability to reduce environmental impact and lower utility costs.

COMMUNITY IMPACT

Our Tenant-Based Training projects have a profound community impact by empowering social housing tenants with essential skills and knowledge that improve their quality of life. The project aims to help reduce financial hardship by teaching tenants how to manage their finances, maintain their homes, and lower energy costs, which fosters greater self-sufficiency and resilience. By enhancing employability through job readiness and digital literacy training, the project opens up new economic opportunities for tenants, promoting social mobility. Additionally, it strengthens community bonds by encouraging collaboration and participation in local initiatives, ultimately contributing to more vibrant, sustainable, and inclusive communities.

Keeping tenants safe is our number one priority, and we were delighted to have the opportunity to offer places to Berneslai Homes tenants on the training session hosted by Efficiency North. The focus was on empowering tenants to proactively identify, prevent, and tackle damp-related problems. During the training tenants were shown how to identify the signs of damp and condensation at an early stage, and what practical steps to take to prevent further issues such as ventilation, heating, and good housekeeping, which was the perfect complement to our existing ‘STAR’ campaign for tenants.
