EN:Able Communities is committed to developing opportunities that drive forward the delivery of sustainable training and education opportunities for the housing and construction industry with the aim to close the skills gap throughout the UK.
Through partnerships and collaboration we bring together local training providers, industry experts, and key stakeholders such as Efficiency Norths’ registered provider membership, and contractors and suppliers.
Building a Sustainable Future by helping shape strategies that not only meet current operational demands but also support net zero targets.
PROJECT GOALS
- Develop a pipeline of skilled workers to meet the demands of the construction industry, particularly in areas such as retrofitting, sustainable building practices, and advanced construction techniques.
- Increase the number of apprenticeships and traineeships available within the construction sector, providing practical, hands-on experience and professional development opportunities for individuals.
- Integrate sustainable construction practices and green skills into training programs to support the UK’s Net Zero objectives and promote environmentally friendly building techniques.
- Raising awareness of green opportunities through communitiy partnerships. with local colleges, industry stakeholders, social housing providers, and trade bodies to align training initiatives with industry needs and create a cohesive approach to skills development.

EN:Able Communities is a member of the Green Construction Advisory Panel (GCAP) that provides a platform to influence training, innovation, and skills. We aim to close the skills gap through impactful education and training opportunities, empowering individuals and organisations to embrace the green agenda. As part of GCAP we play an active role in Advancing Technological Adoption and are at the forefront of integrating next-generation technologies into industry practices. Collaborating on initiatives that ensure the workforce is prepared for tomorrow’s challenges, while meeting current demand and net zero targets.
