We are delighted to announce that EN:Procure has been named winner of the Social Impact Award at the Constructing Excellence Yorkshire and Humber (CEYH) Awards 2026 for the Humber River Stewardship Partnership out of a very strong field of ten shortlisted projects.
The award, sponsored by Ridings Homes, aims to celebrate organisations and projects that take an active role in delivering a positive impact for the communities and stakeholders they work with, placing the society they serve at the heart of what they do.
EN:Procure provided seed funding as a catalyst for social enterprise Riverlution to kickstart a new River Stewardship Partnership in the Humber region, modelled on their successful Sheffield prototype. The £30,000 was secured through Hull City Council’s appointment of Caddick Construction via the EN:Procure new build framework to deliver the Isledane scheme — 34 affordable, energy-efficient social homes in the Orchard Park area of Hull.
The Humber River Stewardship Partnership provides high-quality employment pathways into construction and the environment for local people. Waterway conservation with local volunteers is increasing flood resilience in a city that is 90% below sea level and among the top 10% most deprived in the UK. Involving people of all ages in conservation is reconnecting communities with their local environment and improving health and wellbeing.
Geoffrey Guy, Neil Hodgson and countryside worker apprentice Adam Holt from Riverlution CIC, Debbie Watson and Ian Bendell from Caddick Construction, and Hiatt Jackson from Hull City Council joined EN:Procure Deputy Chief Executive Jonathan Shaw, Commercial & Contracts Support Manager Marina Inkles, ESG Manager Joe Came and Corporate Communications Manager Liz Butcher on stage to receive the award from comedian Lucy Porter and award sponsors Ridings Homes.
The judges said, “EN:Procure demonstrates that small changes really do make a big difference. Whilst some environmental improvements can often appear minor in isolation, EN:Procure combined real practical actions with extensive skills development and employment pathways. The judges were impressed by their clear, measurable impacts and lessons that can be applied across the industry.”
