Three heating engineers working for Ashley & McDonough — Neil, Dan and Conner — went far above and beyond the call of duty by helping to deliver a baby.
While working in a property for Pendleton Together, they heard a woman nearby shouting for help. They rushed over to find a mother in the final stages of labour, surrounded by her young children.
With no time to spare, the team sprang into action. They called 999 immediately, and Neil, guided step-by-step by the ambulance team, delivered the baby safely before the paramedics arrived. It was only Neil’s second day working at A&M. Delivering boilers is in the job description… delivering babies, not so much. He’s now their unofficial resident expert.
A week later, the engineers visited the new mum again to drop off a baby gift from everyone at A&M — a small gesture after such a big moment.
Jane Cunningham, Director at Ashley & McDonough said, “We’re proud to have recently been selected by Pendleton Together to provide heating servicing and repairs for our shared customers. A huge thank you to the EN:Procure Team and Together Housing Team for their invaluable procurement support.”
