Work has begun on a new development of 34 homes for rent at Isledane in Hull, the second residential scheme to be delivered by Caddick for Hull City Council through the EN:Procure new build framework. Caddick are also currently building 99 homes on nearby Dane Park Road (pictured).
The new affordable homes will be some of the most energy efficient in the city and will boost the housing options available in a priority regeneration area of the city. Hull City Council’s Housing Growth Strategy outlines plans to facilitate the delivery of almost 6,000 homes in the city over the next 6 years. The Isledane project is expected to be completed in early 2027 and is funded in part by Homes England’s Affordable Homes Programme, the Brownfield Land Release Fund from the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government, and the Brownfield Land Fund from the Hull and East Yorkshire Combined Authority.
Portfolio holder for housing, Councillor Paul Drake-Davis, said: “Residents have told us that their top priority is having somewhere safe, comfortable and affordable to live.
“We’re able to provide that whilst also making these homes really energy efficient.
“This latest development in Orchard Park allows us to expand the available housing options, and they add to the hundreds of homes already built in the area in recent times.”
Paul Dodsworth, Group Managing Director at Caddick Construction Group, commented: “We’re very proud to have been appointed by Hull City Council to build a second housing development, which will be delivered concurrently with Dane Park Road, reinforcing the trust placed in our team to help meet local housing needs.
“What makes the Isledane project especially significant for us is the involvement of our own civil engineering partners, Caddick Civil Engineering, which will allow us to bring even greater synergy, efficiency and collaboration to the build.”
Richard Greenwood, Director of Operations for new build at EN:Procure, said: “Efficient and reliable procurement is exactly what we aim to achieve across each of our frameworks. Caddick’s appointment to this development in Isledane is exemplar of when frameworks are done well – ensuring the right company with the right skills can be appointed to the job.
“Across this scheme and Dane Park Road, our frameworks are supporting members like Caddick in delivering essential housing for a range of tenures, and building stronger communities in the North of England.”
