Launch of The Built Environment Shared Apprenticeship Service (BESAS): Uniting Industry Leaders for a Shared Vision

A collaborative consortium of prominent “not-for-profit” flexi-job apprenticeship organisations working within the built environment sector is thrilled to announce the establishment of The Built Environment Shared Apprenticeship Service known as BESAS.

BESAS brings together the expertise and commitment of EN:Able Futures, TrAC, CoTrain, Shared Apprenticeships and Evolve – shared apprenticeship schemes for the built environment covering the whole of England.

BESAS is dedicated to showcasing the best in shared apprenticeships in the construction sector. The consortium will provide a national voice for flexi-job apprenticeships, engage in lobbying efforts, share best practices, and encourage collaboration among industry players.

Flexi-job apprenticeships offer an alternative to the traditional apprenticeship model and have been designed to ensure those sectors and occupations where short-term contracts or other non-standard employment models are the norm, can access the benefits of apprenticeships by allowing employers more flexibility and resilience.

While the formal launch of BESAS will be scheduled for later in the year, the consortium is excited to share its vision and mission.

Lee Parkinson – EN:Able Futures: “We are thrilled to be a founding member of BESAS, a collaborative effort that will shape the future of flexi-job apprenticeships in the built environment and construction sectors .”

Sally Moore – TrAC: “BESAS represents a crucial step towards creating a unified and powerful voice for flexi-job apprenticeships in our industry, ensuring they are key consideration for future workforce development”

Derek Rees – CoTrain: “As its Chairman, I’m delighted BESAS will drive collaboration, performance and market engagement to help more companies help more talented people join the sector. CITB has been a critical partner to each shared apprenticeship scheme and I look forward to continued partnership with CITB.”

BESAS is set to revolutionize the landscape of shared apprenticeships, and the consortium invites industry stakeholders to join them on this journey towards a stronger, more collaborative future.
