EN:Able Futures CIC has been appointed to the government’s new register of flexi-job apprenticeship providers. Appointment to the register demonstrates that EN:Able Futures has met the gold standard required to provide flexi-job apprenticeship services.
The flexi-job apprenticeship register, announced in August 2021 by the ESFA (Education and Skills Funding Agency), is designed to create benefits for employers in industries such as construction, where it is often difficult for companies to employ apprentices for a full 12-month time period due to the nature of construction new build, repair and maintenance projects. As the UK economy builds back following the Covid-19 pandemic, the flexible, high quality flexi-job apprenticeship model will support businesses in providing hope and opportunities for young people.
EN:Able Futures were well able to demonstrate their understanding of the skills needs of the construction sector in the North with their outstanding track record of providing apprenticeships through their Shared Apprenticeship Service, now called the Flexi-job Apprenticeship Service. Since 2013 they have delivered 405 apprenticeship starts with 90 host companies, helping to bridge the skills gap and build a talent pipeline to sustain the construction industry’s future in the North. Their team of Apprenticeship Managers provide high levels of pastoral and vocational support to ensure that apprentices complete their qualification successfully and progress into long term careers.
Lee Parkinson, Chief Executive of Efficiency North, commented: “We are delighted to be appointed to the flexi-job apprenticeship register and to secure funding to expand our service lines into the North East and north of the East Midlands. EN:Able Futures CIC has supported hundreds of young people into careers in construction in Yorkshire and the Humber and we now very much look forward to bringing our award winning model to the North East and East Midlands. We already are well on the way to establishing new opportunities in these areas and we will quickly build our presence to establish our service lines on a sustainable basis. Appointment to the register reflects the hard work of the EN:Able Futures CIC team and is testimony to their hard work and dedication to the young people they support through their apprenticeship journey.”
