National Housing Innovation Awards 2013

Efficiency North’s EN Procure Elemental Works Framework was shortlisted as a finalist for Most Innovative Housing Procurement Model in the national Housing Innovation Awards 2013.

The Awards celebrate inventive thinking and the delivery of original schemes and services in housing which are rising to the challenges posed by the difficult economic climate.  Making it through to the final was recognition of the successful collaborative work of the procurement team made up of staff from the consortium’s member organisations and led by Efficiency North.  Their combined skill and efforts ensured that close to 80% of the framework’s contractors are SME’s.  The framework is delivering the added value outcomes originally intended in terms of supporting social and economic regeneration, employment and skills and site carbon and waste reduction for all framework users.

Award winners were announced at a ceremony held in London on Wednesday 13 February with former Mayor of London Ken Livingstone heading the guest list of 500+ top housing and associated sector professionals.

The 2013 Housing Innovation Awards Panel of expert judges included:

Lee Parkinson, YORhub Head of Operations, commented, “Efficiency North are no strangers to awards after winning the innovation / collaborative working categories of the Local Government in Yorkshire and Humber and regional Constructing Excellence awards in 2009 and also being shortlisted for national Constructing Excellence and the Government Opportunities awards in 2009 and 2010 respectively. Being shortlisted for this national award again demonstrates that Efficiency North continue to be at the cutting edge of procurement solutions in pursuit of efficiency and added value for our members
