HWD Hospital Radio is a registered charity reliant on a dedicated team of volunteers to keep the station running each week. Providing a packed schedule of music, news, sport and conversation, the station is listened to by people in West Yorkshire's hospitals. For many of those in hospital, going through tough times with their health, HWD Hospital Radio provides a vital "window on the outside world".
A good friend of Efficiency North, Mark Scott, sadly recently had a stay in Pinderfields Hospital. HWD Hospital Radio provided great entertainment to maintain Mark's spirits and also an essential link to his wife who could not visit him due to ongoing Covid restrictions.
Mark enjoys a wide range of musical genres and does like a bit of rock. Therefore, to continue to support the great work of HWD Hospital Radio, a close friend of Mark and member of the Efficiency North team, Julie Deeley inspired by rock legends Van Halen is going to JUMP!
Yes, on Saturday 25th June 2022 Julie is going to Jump out of a plane high above Grindale, Bridlington, Yorkshire to raise money for HWD Hospital Radio! At 10,000 feet, Julie will make her descent at speeds of over 120 miles per hour!
