Recruiting Apprentice Bricklayer and Apprentice Joiner for host Esh Construction


Great opportunity to become an apprentice with an established construction company

EN:Able Futures partnership with Esh Construction continues to grow as we seek to recruit two more apprentices for this leading civil engineering and built environment group operating across the North-East, Tees Valley, Yorkshire and Humber regions.

The Apprentice Bricklayer will work supporting skilled Bricklayers on a site in Castleford and gaining invaluable experience including:

• Measuring areas and marking out in preparation for laying bricks
• Mixing mortar by hand or with a mechanical mixer
• Applying mortar with a trowel and laying blocks or bricks
• Shaping and trimming bricks using hammers, chisels and power tools
• Checking that rows are straight using a spirit level and plumb line
• Maintaining high levels of health and safety at all times, ensuring regulations are adhered to
• Maintain a clear and tidy workspace and ensure that waste materials are disposed of in accordance with current legislation

The Apprentice Carpenter and Joiner will also work gaining experience on a site in Castleford where they will learn skills such as:

•1st, 2nd and final fix site joinery
• Measuring, marking out, fitting, cutting, splicing, finishing, positioning and securing of timber
• Installation of window frames, doors (internal & external), staircases, skirting boards, joists, trusses, roof
with gables, roof verges and eaves, including roof components
• Use of appropriate hand and power tools
• Maintaining high levels of health and safety at all times, ensuring regulations are adhered to
• Maintain a clear and tidy workspace and ensure that waste materials are disposed of in accordance with
current legislation
