New GSAP Yorkshire and Humber holds inaugural meeting

The inaugural meeting of Yorkshire and Humber GSAP (Green Skills Advisory Panel) advisory board was held at Leeds College of Building on Friday 11th April.  EN:Able Communities is leading the establishment of the new regional panel to help close the skills gap and provide entry routes into green related careers

Gavin Batty, Deputy CEO Barnsley College, Nikki Davis, Principal and CEO of Leeds College of Building, Laura Guymer Assistant Director of Skills at South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority, Gary Lawson, Managing Director Sustainable Building Services (UK) Ltd joined Efficiency North Deputy Chief Executive Jonathan Shaw, EN:Able Communities Chair Ken Taylor and Head of Operations Simeon Perry for a very productive discussion.

The new regional forum’s mission is to have real impact enabling construction-based skills provision and employment to deliver net zero objectives for Yorkshire and Humber through practical action and collaboration.

A launch event for key stakeholders from construction, local and regional authorities, social housing providers, training providers, VCSE and business organisations will take place in autumn.   More details coming soon.
