Meet the 16 new apprentices who have joined EN:Able Futures since September
As the new year fast approaches we are delighted to introduce our newest batch of apprentices who have joined us since September, a dynamic group who have embarked on their exciting construction career journey’s with us. Meet the future stars of the industry below.
Charlie Brady – L4 Quantity Surveyor – Termrim Construction
Charlie joined us in June and has taken on the role of a Level 4 Quantity Surveyor. His host employer is Termrim Construction, and he is contributing his skills to the building of new homes at the St Swithins site in Wakefield. Charlie, attends Leeds College of Building on a day release and expresses great enthusiasm for his new role.
Jamie May and Toby Gouldson– Level 3 Civil Engineering Technicians – Alan Wood & Partners
Having joined us in August, Jamie is thriving as a Level 3 Civil Engineering Technician. He is with host employer Alan Wood and Partners at their office in Hull. Jamie diligently attends Leeds College of Building every week as part of his apprenticeship journey.
Toby is another valuable addition for host employer Alan Wood and Partners, serving as a Level 3 Civil Technician Apprentice in Hull. Toby’s commitment to apprenticeships extends beyond his duties, as he has been invited to share his insights of apprenticeships with students at his previous college.
Connor Mullooly – L3 Civil Engineering Technician – Essential Construction Services
Adding to our ever growing ranks of civil engineering apprentices is Connor, who joins Essential Construction Services, a new host that we are excited to begin working with. Connor is attending Leeds College of Building.
Zobia Kainat – L3 Business Administrator – IAG Mechanical
Zobia commenced her journey with us as a Level 3 Business Administrator. She is an integral part of IAG Mechanical, her host company based in Bradford, West Yorkshire. Zobia is honing her skills while pursuing her qualification at Bradford College.
Owen Harrison and Harley Illingworth – L2 Property Maintenance Operative – MNA Property Maintenance
Owen, who joined us in September, is making waves as a Level 2 Property Maintenance Operative. His host employer is MNA Property Maintenance, located in Bradford. Owen’s work takes him to various sites, and he diligently attends Calderdale College on a day release basis.
Also joining host MNA Property Maintenance in Bradford is Harley who has taken on the role of a Level 2 Property Maintenance Operative. Harley’s commitment to learning is evident as he attends Calderdale College on day release while contributing to projects across Yorkshire.
Aryan Satia – L3 Business Administrator – Equans
Amy Hartshorne – L3 Business Administrator  – Wates Property Services
Although hosted by different employers, Aryan and Amy are both beginning their exciting careers in Business Administration supporting the Efficiency North member Incommunities in West Yorkshire. Aryan begins his journey learning from one of the market leaders in the sector with host employer Equans in Leeds, whilst attending Bradford College for his qualifications. Amy’s host is Wates Property Services, whichas one of UK’s leading family-owned development, building and property maintenance companies, will offer Amy an great opportunity to learn new skills in this dynamic sector. Amy studies for her qualification at Bradford College.
Anisa Ali – L3 Building Services Engineer – CAD21
Anisa joined CAD21 in September to start her career towards her bright future as a Building Services Engineer with host CAD21 a building services and energy consulting engineer company, and will be based in their Leeds office, studying at Leeds College of Building.
Alex White – L4 Procurement – EN:Procure
Alex is the latest apprentice to join the growing procurement team at Efficiency North, working with host EN:Procure as an Assistant Supply Chain Apprentice. This is his first role outside full-time education after he recently completed A Levels in Product Design/Design and Technology, and Business Studies. He will now further his learning and industry experience alongside the team.
Emma Mottram, director of operations for EN:Procure, said: “We’re really looking forward to nurturing Alex’s talent and helping him develop new skills and abilities. There’s no limit to the opportunities we have available for those who want to excel in a career in this industry, and we offer lots of support for our new starters, to help them progress with the company.”
James Kidd – L2 Horticultural Operative – R.H. Fullwood & Co Ltd
James is one of the few Horticultural apprentice EN:Able Futures have employed, and one of many apprentices that have been employed for hosts R.H.Fullwood & Co, a family run, multi-disciplinary construction contractor who work closely with many of Efficiency North’s social housing membership to develop complex projects across Yorkshire and Humber.
Harvey Young – L2 L2 Groundworks – 1-2 Clear
1-2 clear have taken on another apprentice through EN:Able Futures so we must be doing something right. Harvey’s host have an excellent reputation in the industry and with their customers, so he is well placed to learn his new trade with some of the best in the business. Harvey is attending Hull College.
Bailey Huby – L2 Finance Assistant – Metro Rod
Also doing his apprenticeship in draining, although this time office based, is Bailey who is being hosted by Metro Rod, a hugely successful provider of drain unblocking and drain repairs across the UK. Bailey is studying for his qualifications in Finance at Doncaster College.
Harry Sellars – L2 Bricklayer – S&A Parsons Building Contractors Ltd
Harry joins the long line of apprentice bricklayers to have been employed by EN:Able Futures to support projects for its social housing landlord members, and who have gone onto successful and well paid careers in the built environment sector. Hosted by S&A Parsons Building Contractors Ltd, Harry is working on housing projects procured through EN:Procure and is studying for his qualifications at The Sheffield College.
Maxwell Boughen – L3 Water Environment Worker – River Stewardship Company
Maxwell is embarking on an important career working to improve and preserve Britons waterways. He is being hosted by River Stewardship Company while studying for his advanced apprenticeship at Bridgewater & Taunton College.
Mia Borne – L2 Roofer Appentice – Inner City Roofing (Yorkshire)
William Houghton – L2 Roofer Apprentice – Inner City Roofing (Yorkshire)
Both Mia and William will be supporting at height maintenance work procured through EN:Procure’ frameworks. They are both hosted by Inner City Roofing (Yorkshire) and are working toward their qualifications with Sheffield City Council.
We are immensely proud to have so many new talented individuals joining us as they begin their apprenticeship journey and we look forward to witnessing their growth and success within the construction industry.
All of these new apprentices qualification costs have been funded by Howdens who kindly share their apprenticeship levy with EN:Able Futures.
