We have two new apprenticeship opportunities in Wakefield with host Termrim Construction, an award-winning construction company based in Huddersfield that successfully delivers multimillion-pound projects in both the public and private sectors across the North of England and the Midlands.
We are offering a fantastic opportunity for an Apprentice Bricklayer to join the Termrim team on a new housing development St Swithins, Wakefield.
As an Apprentice Bricklayer the successful candidate will develop skills and knowledge by working alongside and supporting skilled Bricklayers to learn skills such as:
- Measuring areas and mark out in preparation for laying bricks.
- Mixing mortar and applying mortar with a trowel and laying blocks or bricks for buildings.
- Shaping and trimming bricks using hammers, chisels, and power tools
- Checking that rows are straight using a spirit level and plumb line.
- Maintaining high levels of health and safety at all times.
We are also offering the opportunity for an Apprentice Joiner to join Termrim to also work on the same development in Wakefield.
As an Apprentice Site Joiner the successful candidate will develop skills and knowledge in:
- A mix of 1st and 2nd fix Joinery.
- Measuring, marking out, fitting, cutting, splicing, finishing, positioning and securing of timber .
- Installation of window frames, doors, joists, trusses and roof elements.
- Use of appropriate hand and power tools.
- Maintaining high levels of health and safety at all times.
