Employment and Skills in Communities Forum

This forum is open to any social housing landlord in Northern England.  It currently focuses on those social housing landlords that operate in Yorkshire and the Humber and the North East

This forum seeks to:

  1. Enable connectivity and collaboration between social housing landlords

  2. Enable information sharing to support employment and skill development for social housing residents through:

  1. A social landlord will provide a short presentation on the work that it undertakes to support its residents into employment at each meeting.

  2. Information about forthcoming bids/ services delivered that may be of interest to social landlords

  3. A presentation/ discussion on a national policy perspective in the Employment/ Skills field that is interest to social landlords. Previous presenters have been DWP, LEP

The agenda is a standard agenda for each meeting

  1. National Policy update from Communities that Work, led by Lynsey Sweeney, Managing Director

  2. A case study by a social housing landlord on how it supports its residents into employment and skills development

  3. A presentation/ discussion on a national policy perspective in the Employment/ Skills field that is interest to social landlords

The forum meets once every 2 months: on a Tuesday afternoon (at 2pm)  on 2nd week of every other month

This Forum needs your input!

  1. To make this forum work, we need social housing landlords to step up and volunteer to undertake presentations on the work they do.  Please tell us you’re the successes that you do, as well as the challenges in doing it (even the failures!)

  2. Ideas that you would like to hear presentation on future funding opportunities and bids
