Extra help and support for apprentices and trainees

EN:Able Communities provides bursaries, expenses and toolkits for apprentices and trainees appointed through EN:Procure's procurement frameworks.

Opportunities for training and employment are written in to EN:Procure’s framework contracts. Since 2015 we have supported 191 apprentices into work. 

Every training opportunity identified is sustainable, with a view to trainees moving into full time, long term employment after their training is complete. Outcomes are measured against targets informed by our member social housing landlords’ aspirations for their local communities. EN:Procure has a dedicated Social Value team to manage training opportunities and provide pastoral support to apprentices. They use a dynamic IT platform to track individuals’ progress through from recruitment to post-qualification. They also work closely with Local Employment Groups (known as LEGs) to ensure that people from disadvantaged communities have apprenticeship opportunities.

Extra investment in 2018/19

In 2018/19, in addition to the apprenticeship opportunities that EN:Procure's framework contracting partners are required to deliver, EN:Able Communities will invest £195,000 to support a minimum of 55 people through our network of Local Employment Groups within Yorkshire and Humber. 

This targeted funding will support people from disadvantaged backgrounds to become ‘work ready’, gain an apprenticeship, or enter into employment
