Through its charitable giving arm, the EN:Able Communities CIO, the Efficiency North group has supported UK Rock Challenge’s annual competition for school groups in Yorkshire since 2014.

The Rock Challenge is global dance based performance events to encourage young people to make positive life choices and be their best without tobacco, alcohol or other drugs.

The Rock Challenge is an ‘inclusive’ extra-curricular performing arts competition open for young people which benefits it participants in a variety of ways including: improving self-esteem; improved school attendance; improved skills including teamwork, leadership, budgeting, communications; increased enjoyment of school generally (including improved relationships with teachers) and reduced anti-social behaviour in participating schools and surrounding communities.

The focus of the event is on young people leading healthy lifestyles, achieving and having the opportunity to reach their potential individually and as part of a team in a friendly, supportive, professional theatre environment where they can learn and work together with industry professionals, educators and peers alike. It provides a unique opportunity for young people to gain a whole range of new skills, increasing positive experiences for all young people and improving well-being as well as having fun!“Shakeel’s love of dance and performance came out of his involvement over the years in Rock Challenge and is now off to America next year to dance.
