A major regeneration project in Hull is not only delivering high-quality homes—but also building bright futures.
Caddick Construction is delivering 99 new affordable homes for Hull City Council at Dane Park, procured through EN:Procure’s New Build Framework. Designed to high sustainability standards, these 1 to 4-bedroom homes feature air source heat pumps, solar panels, EV charging points and enhanced flood resilience.
But what really sets this project apart is its commitment to social value. Five EN:Able Futures flexi-job apprentices are gaining valuable hands-on experience on site—developing their skills in bricklaying, joinery, and site management. Two of the apprentices are also receiving bricklaying training through the NHBC Apprenticeship Training Hub in Hull.
In our latest video, hear directly from the apprentices and site team about what it’s like to work on a project of this scale, how they’re developing their skills, and the value of choosing an apprenticeship route into construction.
“The apprentices are bringing a lot to this project—and to the construction industry as a whole,” says Matthew Barr, Site Manager at Caddick. “There’s a real need for young people to come into the industry, and it’s great to see them progressing.”
This project is a shining example of how collaboration between contractors, procurement specialists and apprenticeship providers is not just building homes—but stronger communities, skilled workforces, and long-term opportunities.
