We’re proud to celebrate Lauren’s achievement in completing her Level 3 Civil Engineering Technician apprenticeship with her host Alan Wood and Partners and EN:Able Futures as her employer.
Over three years, Lauren balanced four days of work each week with one day at Leeds College of Building, gaining practical skills in AutoCAD, Revit 3D modelling, drainage, and structural projects ranging from housing to warehouses.
Starting with little knowledge of engineering, Lauren has grown in confidence and expertise, and she plans to continue her career by progressing to a degree apprenticeship.
Lauren also won Level 3 Construction Apprentice of the Year at the Construction Apprenticeship Awards 2024.
Lauren praises the apprenticeship route for providing valuable real-world experience alongside study, supported by EN:Able Futures’ ongoing guidance. She highly recommends this path to others seeking a hands-on, cost-effective way into engineering.
Watch Lauren below talking about her experience as an apprentice, her advice to others and future plans.
