We’re proud to celebrate the success of Alfie, who has officially completed his Level 3 Electrical Installation and Maintenance Apprenticeship while hosted by Berneslai Homes and employed through EN:Able Futures’ Flexi-job Apprenticeship service.
Alfie’s story is one of real determination and resilience. He began his apprenticeship journey with another employer but found himself out of work during the pandemic — a time when securing a new opportunity to finish his training felt impossible.
EN:Able Futures and Berneslai Homes stepped in to offer Alfie and several other displaced apprentices a vital lifeline, giving them the chance to continue their apprenticeships and complete their qualifications. Alfie grabbed this opportunity with both hands, passing the tough AM2 endpoint assessment and gaining valuable skills that will support his future career.
“I always doubted myself, but I’ve done it,” Alfie shared. “I’m really proud it’s all completed. My next step is my 2391 testing qualification so I can become an approved electrician and get my gold card.”
To help Alfie take the next step, EN:Able Futures also worked closely with our industry contacts to secure him a long-term position with St Leger Homes, who recognised Alfie’s potential and employed him directly after he completed his qualification.
Alfie’s journey is a brilliant example of how collaborative partnerships can create opportunities and keep talent in the construction sector.
Congratulations, Alfie — we’re delighted to have supported you every step of the way!
