Y&H Construction Excellence Awards 2009

Winner – Construction Excellence in Yorkshire and Humber Awards 2009 – Integration and Collaborative Working

Efficiency North scooped the Integration and Collaborative Working Award at the Constructing Excellence in Yorkshire and Humber Awards Dinner held at Oulton Hall, Leeds 18th September 2009.

Efficiency North’s Founder Jed Turner and Chair Mick Werritt collected the award which was presented by the Chairman of Yorkshire Forward Terry Hodgkinson.

In evaluating award submissions for the Integration and Collaborative Working Category Judges were looking for evidence of early involvement, selection by value, common processes and tools across organisations, long-term relationships, modern commercial arrangements and fair payment practices and delivery to client defined performance measures as well as evidence of improvements as a result. Also, Judges required evidence of how workforce development has improved as a result of collaboration, in addition to the products or services and customer satisfaction together with integrating their teams to such a level that they appear as a single entity to the customer.

The Judges described Efficiency North as “having a positive and often interventionist approach to Integration and Collaborative working – resulting in positive benefits on cost, programme, and value for money, for both clients and supply chains. They are indeed a catalyst for encouraging Integration & Collaborative working across the industry and across the region.”

Efficiency North’s Project Director Lee Parkinson commented: “winning the Constructing Excellence in Yorkshire and Humber Award for the Integration and Collaborative Working Category is an excellent recognition of the hard work that goes into the efficiency groups and learning events that Efficiency North hosts with its members. Efficiency North’s vision to be recognised across the region as the practitioners’ network for Housing Maintenance and Construction is certainly enhanced by winning this award and we will continue to work hard to develop our activities across our workstreams to bring improvement and efficiency to our member organisations.”
