Announcing EN's Charity of the Year, S4ALL

EN surpise S4ALL with a surprise gift to support their work regenerating one of the most deprived areas in the UK today.

This Christmas we’re really pleased to support S4ALL as our chosen small local charity working in communities in Yorkshire and Humber.  Formerly known as Stainforth 4 All, S4ALL have now worked with Efficiency North for three years in a successful partnership to improve social mobility which has helped 42 Doncaster people back into training and employment to date.

S4ALL took over the running of Stainforth library in 2011.  The library would have been closed due to council budget cuts but instead became the first community run library in the borough. They have since succeeded in establishing the centre as a true community hub in the heart of Stainforth, and now also provide 20 different services across the East of Doncaster including a job club, library, charity shop, internet cafĂ©, micro grants, community events and free educational trips.

Efficiency North has worked with S4ALL, previously known as Stainforth 4 All, since 2015.  Together we have enabled 42 people into training and employment from Efficiency North’s priority target disadvantaged groups i.e. those with the greatest barriers who are furthest from the employment market - the long-term unemployed, NEETs, ex-offenders, BAME, disabled, homeless, military service leavers, care leavers, 50+, and social housing tenants.  Our joined up approach ensures a healthy supply of candidates for the prospective employers and of opportunities for the candidates to learn and earn in their local neighbourhoods.

EN:Procure Social Value Manager Paul Mitchell presented Phill Bedford, Manager of S4ALL, with a £2,500 donation at a meeting at Efficiency North's Sovereign Court office in Sheffield on 12 December 2018 to offer additional support for their services for people in the East of Doncaster.

Phill Bedford, Manager of S4ALL, commented: "Our work together has strengthened Doncaster communities and helped S4ALL itself to grow and do even more in turn.  We are so proud to be named Charity of the Year and believe that this will not only raise our profile, but give us an important platform to grow and raise the capital we need for expansion.
“A key strand of our growth strategy, is again working with Efficiency North to build a new Health and Leisure campus for Doncaster in 2019. We have already secured £300,000 towards this, but are now looking to match that, either with additional finance or in-kind contributions. This new build will provide the resource to improve the lives of thousands of people across the borough and is part of our overall aim of re-generating the area, whilst providing long term sustainability for S4ALL.
“We believe the award from Efficiency North both acknowledges the successful implementation of our growth strategy thus far, whilst also providing validation that we are a viable partner for larger organisations looking to help and/or invest socially.”
