4 bricklayers celebrate completing their apprenticeships
4 Bricklayer apprentices completed their 2 year apprenticeships with EN:Able Futures in February.
Ben Kay, Isaac Richardson, Jamie Guthrie and Lewis Duncan all successfully finished their qualifications while hosted by Buildroute Ltd.
They gained the experience they needed to complete their apprenticeship by working with skilled bricklaying gangs to build housesfor Persona Homes, part of the Home Group, on a site managed by United Living in Harrogate.
Having started their apprenticeships during the height of the Covid pandemic, all 4 apprentices showed great resolve to adapt to the unique working situation they found themselves in.
“It feels good to finish [my apprenticeship] , its been a long time coming, there’s been a lot of cancellations with the tests, but it’s done now. I’ve gained lots of skills, people skills, socially, talking to people every day and obviously the skills I’ve learnt with the bricklaying its good and something for the future, it will be nice to get even better.” – Ben Kay, Bricklayer, Buildroute Ltd
“It’s been a good 2 ½ years. I’m fully qualified now, but there’s plenty more to learn, so I’ll carry on learning. You never forget the skills you’ve learnt during the apprenticeship, but you can always keep improving, so I’ll carry on with that and keep learning more.” Isaac Richardson, Bricklayer, Buildroute Ltd.
