All trustees share EN:Able Communities’ vision to support social mobility in Northern England and and have the experience, skills and capacity to steer the CIO and ensure its aims are accomplished. We are now seeking 3 trustees with expertise and experience in retrofit, finance and marketing.

Ken Taylor

Ken Taylor

Ken has over 25 years' experience of working at executive director, board and ambassadorial levels across all sectors within regeneration to fulfil people’s social, economic and environmental needs. This has included, for example, being the chair of Wakefield and District Housing, the Executive Director of the charity Groundwork Wakefield and North Yorkshire and as a Board Member of the Mental Health Network.   He is currently the Chair of the Calderdale and Kirklees Recovery College.

Having spent his career working within deprived areas across Yorkshire his approach is to work in partnership with communities and organisations to address inequalities and maximise impact.

Ken wants to pull on his skills, knowledge and experience to be a part of leading EN:Able Communities to regenerate communities and help people to reach their potential and live well.

Ken was appointed Chair of Berneslai Homes in December 2023.

Lee Winterbottom

Member Director

Lee joined Berneslai Homes as Managing Director of Construction Services in October 2018. He has responsibility for the operational and financial performance of Construction Services which is the in-house workforce. He is also part of Berneslai Homes executive team.

He has worked in construction all his working life, and in the property social housing sector for the last 22 years where he has held a number of roles. While these have all been property focused they have included lead roles in repairs service delivery, sustainability, new business and PFI and competitive procurement. The latter seeing success in the award of the PFI contract in Salford for the housing and public realm regeneration. 

Lee is a member of the Chartered Institute of Building and is also actively involved in many networks and working groups that focus on improving the efficiency of  in-house workforces and the retrofit agenda.

Lee was appointed as Deputy Chair of EN:Able Communities board of trustees in September 2022.

Richard Holmes

Contracts Lawyer at Wakefield and District Housing

Richard joined WDH in 2018 as their Contracts Lawyer advising on company, commercial and construction matters.

Prior to joining WDH Richard spent more than 20 years employed as an in-house lawyer for a number of local authorities, including Leeds City Council and Manchester City Council, and also in private practice working for Irwin Mitchell, Walker Morris and Nabarro/CMS. During this time he advised both public and private sector clients on the commercial legal issues relating to PFI, PPP and major public sector projects particularly in the waste, education and housing sectors as well as on public procurement, joint ventures, strategic partnerships and outsourcing.

Richard was seconded to the Department for Education as a Commercial Manager delivering the Government’s Building Schools for the Future Programme.

Epiphany Kidd

Epiphany joined En:Able Communities in March 2018.  Epiphany has extensive experience as a housing professional working for a number of councils and housing associations, in both operational and , project management

Epiphany is currently Senior Manager Neighbourly Places at Connect Housing, Leeds and Treasurer of Women in Social Housing (WISH) Yorkshire and Humber branchand was formerly Programme Co-ordinator, South Yorkshire Housing Association.

Epiphany has also worked as a mountain bike guide and a snowboard instructor.

Andrew Champ

Andrew Champ

Andrew Champ was appointed as a trustee in March 2024.

He is Executive Director of not-for-profit Solid Wall Insulation Guarantee Agency (SWIGA) and has extensive experience in the retrofit sector.  

In his role at SWIGA Andrew has developed quality processes in the application of solid wall insulation to reduce insurance-based payments.  He has also written many of the training standards for insulation-based fabric first applications including external wall, internal wall and Park homes.  He is an adviser to the UK government on retrofit PAS standards, and to the Department for Energy & Net Zero (DESNZ) and the Scottish and Welsh governments on retrofit standards and skills-based training.

 

 

 

 

Suzanne Blakley-Taylor

Suzanne Blakley-Taylor

Suzanne Blakley-Taylor was appointed as a trustee in March 2024.  She works within the EWI division at Sika UK Ltd, a company providing solutions for concrete repairs, roofing, flooring and waterproofing to the construction industry.

Suzanne has worked in construction for over 23 years, always within the EWI market, having begun her career in administration initially before progressing to more senior positions.  Suzi is also a board member of Insulated Render and Cladding Association (INCA)  and is currently its Treasurer.
